Safe and Efficient
Historically, for an AMR to operate safely in an environment, the robot would be setup in a worst-case scenario configuration where safety zones would be locked in as if the robot was being driven at maximum speed and the largest physical payload size was always present. While this ensured safe operation, it came at the cost of operational efficiency (and in some cases) prohibited applications with tight access points.
With the MD Series, the trade off between safe operation and efficiency is a thing of the past. Not only do MD Series AMRs provide 360° of safety rated sensing to ensure maximum coverage in all directions, its advanced onboard safety and navigation systems work together to assess the robot’s speed, trajectory and payload size to dynamically select from 128 safety zones in real time so that the most appropriate zone is active. To take it a step further, the MD can also be configured to automatically adjust its physical footprint in applications where overhung payloads are picked up and dropped off (an industry first). The result of all this high-tech wizardry is that MD-Series AMRs can travel faster and use more efficient paths while still maintaining safe operation, which equates to increased productivity and a faster ROI.
